About T&S Manufacturing
After a tough winter (circa 1976) of fighting off the cows and being knocked over while feeding them, Charley Taylor promised his wife, Liz, that she wouldn’t have to go through that again the next year. He got to work building a feeder in his backyard on the ranch that would take the headache out of feeding cattle, and the Trip Hopper Range Feeder was born. Their sons, Jim and Pat, helped to start and run the booming business of T&S Manufacturing, making and selling the feeders to fellow ranchers looking for a more convenient and economical way to feed their cows.
T&S Feeders are built tough to take the labor and guesswork out of feeding your herd. It has been tweaked and simplified since the first model Charley built to work even smoother and last even longer. The feeders are virtually maintenance free once installed, other than greasing the bearings once a year to keep them moving like they should. Each feeder uses a motorized conveyer belt system to move your choice of feed through it, while the flow gauge dumps the ration you choose per pound or per head. The feeders come with everything you need to easily install them to your vehicle, including a simple wiring diagram. If you can drive a truck, you can work a Trip Hopper and get your cows fed, all while staying out of the elements and not lifting a feed sack every time. Like Jim said, “All you gotta do is buy it, put it on your truck, feed and enjoy!”
With the Truck Model and Trip Hopper Jr. you are able to feed both on the ground and in troughs. We offer plenty of model styles and sizes, so you can get the one that best fits your production. No matter the model of feeder you use, each one provides more of an equal consumption per cow meaning they breed back quicker, calves have a higher weaning weight, and the cattle perform better through the winter. You can use the feeders for more than just cows too. Feed your goats, pigs, whatever! The convenience is there with Trip Hopper. We even add ease to filling your deer and game feeders with our Paddleveyor attachment.
T&S Manufacturing and Trip Hopper Feeders have came a long way since Charley Taylor built the original one, but the mission is still the same. We want to help ranchers across the United States take the labor out of feeding their cows while saving time and money.
